Hello everyone. I've been thinking about each of you and wanted to take a moment to let you know how special you all were to David during his lifetime, but especially during his 15 mth. battle with leukemia. He often reflected on the memories of High School and all the wonderful people he had met during those years. And he was so tickled that Amy had set up a website wishing him well, and that through that so many came together again. He was so pleased to connect with many of you 1 on 1 these last few weeks, you allowed him to be at peace and realize all the joy and goodness he brought to so many. He was such an inspiration to me and always will be as he fought so valiantly during his illness. As one of his oncologists told me recently, "David was a role model for cancer patients as he always kept smiling and making us laugh even during his struggles with treatment". I am so proud of who he was and how he conducted himself. As for me, I am feeling a bit stronger each day. I have been back to work for 4 wks. now and it feels good. My busy career at Coca-Cola helps keep my days very full. Services were back in the Boston area, and my Mom flew back w/me initially, but has now returned. So I am alone with my little dog Admiral .. so glad I have him. We both miss David terribly every day, but find strength in so many loving friends. My family is all back east in New England, and David's 1 brother and his sons live in Ann Arbor. I have started a Bereavement Support Group at the local hospital and find it comforting. I will soon be connecting with David's donor and look forward to that. If you care to send a note I would love to hear from you.
